As part of its commitment to conducting high-quality research and enhancing the efficiency of its services, the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (EAGME) operates state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with specialized instruments that support the work of its scientific staff. These laboratories serve as the “engine room” of the Authority, driving its mission to explore and highlight Greece’s rich mineral and subsurface resources.

“LITHOS”: Laboratory for Quality Control of Decorative Stones
The “Lithos” Laboratory of EAGME has been operating since 1999, focusing on the research and determination of the quality characteristics and physical–mechanical properties of the country’s decorative stones.
Mineralogy–Petrography Laboratory
The laboratories of the Department of Mineralogy and Petrography of EAGME provide mineralogical, mineral-chemical, and petrographic analysis services on geological and other samples, supporting both public and private sector needs as part of their ongoing research activities.
Water Quality Control Laboratory
The EAGME Water Quality Control Laboratory has been operating for over 40 years, specializing in the chemical and microbiological analysis of water samples intended for potable, irrigation, and other uses.
Laboratory of Solid Industrial Waste and Sludge
The Laboratory of Solid Industrial Waste and Sludge has been active since 1995, performing tests and measurements to characterize, classify, and manage industrial waste and mining by-products.
