The GEOKA Subproject was initiated in response to the need for preparing multi-hazard maps of natural disasters, in line with the broader policies of the European Union and the United Nations.
Within the framework of the GEOKA Subproject, an assessment of the volcanic susceptibility of the Greek territory is also being carried out.
The aim is to conduct studies on volcanic hazards, develop scenarios for possible volcanic reactivation, and gather the necessary data for the comprehensive management of destructive phenomena related to volcanic activity in Greece.
Scientific Supervisor: Dr. Georgios Vougioukalakis – Volcanologist, Head of the Department of Management, Prevention, and Response to Natural Hazards (FYC)
