EAGME, with a consistent focus on the utilization of natural energy resources and the sustainable productive exploitation of the country’s mineral wealth for the benefit of the National Economy, is implementing three research axes aimed at drawing useful conclusions to enhance competitiveness and promote local development.
Within the framework of the program “Actions for the Utilization of Primary and Secondary Mineral Resources (DYOPY),” with a total budget of €436,200, EAGME aims to gradually re-evaluate occurrences of metallic and non-metallic mineral raw materials in selected mining areas, to investigate the potential use of by-products and mining waste, and to explore for new occurrences of strategically important metals.
The project’s results are expected to add significant — and in many cases measurable — economic and social value, in relation to the existing productive potential of the country’s non-energy mineral resources. However, the most important outcome is intangible: it lies in expanding the knowledge base on non-energy mineral raw materials, from which measurable results will subsequently emerge.
