On the initiative of the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (ΕΑGME), and with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Environment and Energy, ΕΑGME staff, and representatives of the mining industry, a training seminar is being held at the Authority’s premises from 28 to 30 January 2025.
The aim of the seminar is to provide an in-depth understanding of the theoretical and practical application of the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC).
The UNFC is an international system for the classification and management of both natural and anthropogenic resources. As a global standard, it harmonizes the various classification schemes used by different countries, facilitating international communication and cooperation.
It is applied to mineral resources such as metals, petroleum, nuclear fuels, renewable energy sources, and CO₂ storage projects, promoting international collaboration and joint action on climate and environmental sustainability.
